For the first time in forever, I’m actually looking forward to Summer. Its been such a long and dreary Winter, but Spring seems to be happening all about the place. So I’m sure it wont be long. So as I dream of warmer days this little number caught my eye. Made from white porcelain clay with gloss clear glaze, the holes are made by piercing the clay with the potters needles. You can choose your sterling silver chain length too. Yours for US$40.

I’ve taken to baking a wee bit lately. Be it cakes, cupcakes or sweets – I’ve been giving it a crack. I had been hamstrung when it came to trying certain new recipes as I’ve never owned kitchen scales before. Well all that changed today, as Timi brought me a shiny set for my very own… he’s the bestest! No more comparing visually to a stick of butter portions or converters online!!

A couple of days ago I was digging through the archives as I was freaking out about not having an shot for UNSENSORED10 (which is 2 weeks away!). I came across this little baby. I vaguely remember shooting it first the footpath whilst I waiting for Timi to take a photo of tourist. Then standing up nice and close to the underneath the face for the second layer. I don’t know why I didn’t originally upload it. But it was still a nice find a year or so on.

Now in it’s third year the kit design award short list a bunch of pretty designs for their packaging for the coming year. This years theme has been take shape. With some backing from the good people at frankie, the next bunch of finalists have been announced and to my surprise a friend of a friend of a friend (have you got all that!?!) is amongst them!

A super big congratulations to the lovely Ms Noko Washiyama for being one of the top 20.

You can vote for Noko’s design and go into the running to score yourself a kit prize pack worth $500, plus a 12-month subscription to frankie. Hopefully come October you will be able to buy a cute little makeup bag with a sausage dog on it.

Designer John Patterson’s might be better know as the guitarist for The Grates , but it’s safe to say that he seems to have more than just one talent. Able and Game make cards and stationery that are quirky and cute rather than cliche and predictable. They are Melbourne based designers so that makes them extra special! I first saw their stuff when received a “i’d go to zone 2 for you” on my anniversary. I’ve notice these cards popping up all over the CBD. They are unique and each their own story to tell. We decided to watch the sun set over the ocean. I rarity for us east coast dwellers. Unfortunately it all fizzled out when the sun sunk beneath this body of clouds. In the minutes before this is Tim lining up a shot of beautiful sky line and turtle island.

It’s Roid Week again! This time Fall as the yanks like to call it – but for us in the Southern end of the planet…it’s Spring!! This is my first addition for Roid Week 09 Spring. It was taken in Wilson’s Prom on the Loo-Errn Track, on a very cloudy, overcast day. Using my trusty one step and polaroid 600 expired film. Bring on the rest of the week!
